FAQs for Ruby Dixon at Book Bonanza 2024

  1. OH NO! I DIDN’T PICK UP MY PRE-ORDER! WHAT NOW? Please email Kati at 1theclub1@gmail.com ASAP! We will try to send it to you (or issue a refund) but we can only hold onto your copy for a limited time!
  2. Where is Ruby signing? What’s her table number? Table H3
  3. Does Ruby have a signing limit? Yes, 3 books only. She will also have pre-signed bookplates available for you to take home for your other books.
  4. Will Ruby have a dedicated pre-order line? YES! You will be able to pick up the signed edition without waiting in the other lines. You can also pick up your pre-order while in any other line, as well (for example, if you are in line to see Ruby, let the assistant helping the lines know you also have a pre-order, and Team Ruby will grab it for you.)
  5. Can I buy items at Ruby’s table without standing in the signing line or pre-order line? YES! We expect that Ruby will have three lines — the signing line, the pre-order pickup line, and the buy-a-book/swag line. Team Ruby will help you get to the right place, don’t worry! 
  6. Will Ruby’s signing line be wristbanded? Probably! It was last year. If you go past her table and notice that the line is short, however, please feel free to ask Team Ruby or nearby Book Bonanza volunteers. Sometimes you can slip in.
  7. Which books will be available for sale at Ruby’s table? The FIRE IN HIS BLOOD special edition will be for sale at Ruby’s table until they are sold out (there will be an equal number available at the start of the Friday/Saturday signings). She will also have a limited number of the special edition hardback of ICE PLANET BARBARIANS. In addition, the Half Price Books stand will have some EARLY (!) copies of BOUND TO THE SHADOW PRINCE along with some IPB paperbacks. 
  8. What payment forms do you take? Cash, Paypal, Credit/Debit
  9. Is Ruby participating on any panels? Nope!
  10. Will Ruby be at the Thursday Author Meetup? Nope, this one was a little late in the day for Ruby.
  11. Will there be free swag or is it all for sale? BOTH! Conky will be with us and she has some AMAZING artwork for sale, but there are also things you can pick up for free.
  12. I am bringing a non-book item for Ruby to sign, is that okay? YES! Ebook protectors, t-shirts, quilts, autograph books, prints, stuffed animals, real animals—if a Sharpie can write on it, she will sign it!
  13. If I see Ruby in the hall, can I talk to her? YES! Although she might not have a ton of time if she’s on her way to an event/signing, she loves to speak with readers!
  14. Can I approach Ruby’s assistants if I have questions? Please do! We are the ones in the Team Ruby shirts. 
  15. Can I take a picture in front of the 7ft tall Vektal/Raahosh banner? YES! Though it’s usually right next to Ruby’s signing table and she often uses it as a backdrop when taking photos with the reader she’s talking to at the moment (so we might have to wait a minute until the coast is clear), but we’ll make sure you get some alone-time with the boys!
  16. If I have questions during the event but am not face-to-face with any of Ruby’s Team, who can I contact? Since Ruby will likely be swamped and not checking mail or socials, you can contact Kati Wilde on Facebook, Instagram, or via email at 1theclub1@gmail.com. She will get back to you as soon as she can (and will make a point of checking often.)
